a wonderful gift

We got this as a frist birthday gift for my son. He was engaged instantly and has been playing with it ever since. The blocks are the prefect size. My 3 year old also enjoys these blacks and the carrying case. Only 5 of the 9 are "interactive" but the others are still fun. We also received the blocksters that come in a 3 pack. those are a bit larger, they open up and have activities inside. my kids don't like those as well, maybe we will grow into the bigger ones

I bought this for my 16 month old grandson for Christmas and he loves it. He likes that he can carry the case around. He opens it up and takes the blocks out and stacks them and then puts them back in the case. This is a good toy to teach shapes and colors. All in all this is a great toy.
Such a great purchase!

I bought this for my daughter thinking she would just stack the blocks but she actually studies the shapes and animal. This toy gets played with everyday. She can carry it around and play with it while I'm doing laundry or dishes...I LOVE it!
Surprisingly engaging for my 2-year-old!

My son got this for his second birthday from his grandma, and at first I was skeptical. It seemed like a toy for a much younger kid! But he Loooooooves it! He's old enough to not only sort the shapes, but to open and close the clasp on the side, and pick it up and carry it around like a little briefcase. He quickly learned he had to get all the shapes perfectly into their spots in order to get it to close. We use it to teach the basic shapes (circle, triangle and square, though my husband likes to confuse the situation by using the proper three-dimensional shape names instead) and colors -- it's not so good for teaching animals, because they're distorted into the shapes. We also use it as a "go-toy", because it's convenient to take with you, durable, and it's easy to make sure you have all the pieces when you're ready to leave. And he can use the blocks with his other blocks to stack or line them up. Overall, a surprisingly engaging toy for a 2-year-old boy!
Gets their attention for a few minutes

The animal designs and the noises some of the shapes gets our little boy's attention for a few minutes. He likes to carry it around like a briefcase. I would like it better if you could push the shapes through the holes, so they can associate which shape fits where. It is limited in only having three shapes: circle, square, and triangle. It is also overpriced.
